slowly fixing my apogee's buzz. I just opened them with the help of john65b(thanks a lot!) and right now I need tips/recommendation on how to clean them safely to get rid of the molds as shown below:

Kris, is the mold on the laminate film or on the foil side of things?
Reason I ask is that if the latter may have ate into the foil. A mild detergent bleach solution would work but more difficult is to remove any and all residue so it doesn't remain reactive for the long haul.

Looks like you have intergranular corrosion going on there.
Not much you can do other than spray it with some Aluminum- prep and wash and /or Alodine or just not use any Alodine.
It would ruin the looks overall but then it doesn't look any worse now...
