TIP3055, TIP 2955 substitute- urgent need- please help

Dear all,
I need a really urgent help!
I am making a dual regulated power supply using LM317, LM337 with TIP3055 and TIP2955. But unfortunately TIP3055 or TIP35 and TIP2955 or TIP36 are not available in local electronics shops. And sadly I can't use online shopping.

Could you kindly tell me any other common power transistors as substitutes for my build?

Those are usually the easy ones to find. Look for MJ15015 (NPN), MJ15016 (PNP) then.

You can use 2SC5200 & 2SA1943 made by toshiba.

Better use TO-3 package and use 2N3055/MJ2955. These can dissipate more power.

MJ15003/4 can also be used. For your application, you can use any TO-3 NPN/PNP. See that the current rating is good enough.

In a PSU you can generally use almost any power transistor as long as Ic(max), Vce(max) and Ptot are above your requirements. I would avoid some of the high frequency types as the PSU could become unstable and oscillate.

Plus slower devices are more robust and cheaper

I was lucky to find just 2 pieces of TIP3055 and the last piece of TIP2955 in the other shop out of only two shops in my locality.
I will make another set of this power supply very soon for a friend. So your valuable inputs will be highly helpful to me in future.
