Actually still only 11YO but rapidly approaching that time when you seal them in a 44 gallon drum and feed them through the bung hole. Still I promised and she wants a set of speakers that sound like real guitars. Also it's the speakers than need to be small as this femme fatale in training is fast approaching 175 tall.
I think it is about time I used my collection of tiny drivers. Years ago somebody on the forum gifted me a pair of 150mm 4R woofers to use in a project like this
So 4 * 55mm full range from an LG HTIAB system, one pair 4" woofers with reasonable bass and Audax Mylar tweeters, WMTM
The Audax Mylar are probably OK with a small cap in series say around 2uF or smaller and I would like to keep costs down by using as much stuff from my stash as possible
So my question is this. Do I make a proper 3-Way or use the little woofers full range with a .5 boost?
I just ran a sweep and they seem to go from ~100Hz to about 15k, nothing below 100 but the woofers have output down to 30
So just a cap in series before the small driver around 500 or a second order electrical a bit lower at 300? All values near enough good enough and standard values? Input appreciated on another small fun project

Rate she's going, she's going to be ~ 6 ft/183 cm like mine.
Well, need to do 80 Hz flat out to 1250 Hz, then whatever tonally matches up out to ~5 kHz, so personally would do 3 way since they're all small drivers and without getting that 80 Hz rolling off to 40 Hz/F24 it'll sound like an AM radio.
~[80^1250]^0.5 = ~316 Hz XO, especially with a boosted low end.

Never have done any, but have auditioned several different types, so was sorely tempted to suggest it except for the dreaded budget thing. 🙁

Now to get some cabinets started, woodwork has always been my weak point, then I will finalise the XO
I can hear a definite difference when I swap between the cheaper yellow cap and the Jantzen cross cap.
Aussies might recognise the tweeter as coming from Dick Smith many many years ago when closing down; $30- a pair, only about 88dB but that means padding down isn't essential with this tiny midrange
