The thought I meant to convey was that the Analog Devices publication is probably the most definitive, authoritative (written by individuals closest to the original people), well supported (footnotes, etc) source for the information you sought, that is generally accessible by mere mortals. Consulting it first would avoid the speculation and uncertainty that most of us attached to our responses. It would give you a comprehensive overview, from which you could ask more specific questions to fill in the remaining knowledge gaps.

Back in '79 we used Harris opamps for "better than a 741" needs. They and Raytheon were
big in the professional markets back then, buy Raytheon were hard to buy in the UK.
