No.
p.s.... unless they changed it now.
Don't abuse TI's free sample service for personal reasons. It just makes life harder for EE's and other techs that are actually designing equipment and evaluating parts.
These chips are cheap. And since you'll be placing a digikey/mouser/whatever order for the rest of the parts you need to build an amp, there's no reason why you can't buy your chip along with it.

for God's sake guys, u know it such threads should be discouraged as many a newbies start abusing the free sample programme of microchip manufacturers, thats why every now now and then they have started to discontinue free programmes. U know well take example of National, etc
I think we should discourage discussion on such subjects.

National used to send out samples for free -- now they will charge you a shipping fee if you don't use a company URL in your email address.
Intersil practically makes you go through a proctological examination to get a sample.
fwiw, TI's sample distribution comes out of Digikey.

I disagree with your statement. Whether you're a noob or an EE, abuse is done by abusers. You don't think there are EEs out there who abuse the system?

If you read the FAQ you will notice that the possible abuse will be limited according to their rules.
The original poster only asked the question if the sample program is for real. There is no indication whatsoever that he’s intending to abuse TI.
I suggest he should try to get some samples and see if it works for his country.
As we all know from the many threads in this forum about this issue, we should all use common sense to keep these offers from various manufacturers going.
We can’t play guards of the companies, as it is their sole decision to kick abusers out.
