I will start this thread by stating that I am new to DIY audio and welcome any advice on where to start, ie books, websites and videos. I am very good with my hands and have brains enough to keep me out of trouble most of the time (chemistry and biology degrees) but I do have limited electrical background.
Secondly, I recently purchased a pair of Threshold SA-2 monoblocks and I would like to modify/upgrade them to the full extend of my wallet. What mods would you recommend (please specify parts and brand names) and what information would I need to perform these mods myself? Again, I thank you in advance for any information you can share.

If you want to be an art critic, go look at a thousand paintings.
Same for electronics, read as many schematics as possible.
A great source for Pass-related projects is Passdiy.com and this forum of course. Another good website is sound.westhost.com with lots of projects. Also Passlabs.com has some nice articles available.
Also check out the "favourites" thread in the Pass Labs forum.
Okay, as for books there are a few classics:
Horowitz/Hill - The art of electronics
A thousand pages on almost anything related to electronics.
Duncan - High Performance Audio Power Amplifiers
Mostly text, no analysis if memory serves right, but good read.
Self Douglas - Audio Power Amplifier Design Handbook
Covers almost everything, but no intro to basic electronics
Morgan Jones - Valve Amplifiers
Not quite solid state but lots of analysis, intro to basic electronics, tubes, regulators,...
Sinclair - Audio and HiFi Handbook
Is a collection of great articles by various authors with a high impact on audio, very informative.
For basic electronics I like the videos of this guy here:

On the Treshold I can't provide any information besides the usual "You will want to consider replacing all the electrolytic caps
in the supply and on the boards."
