Picked this up the other day. Would like to do some updating. Anyone have a schematic? I've seen some here about the 9e and 10 but not the 9. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks zeonrider my manual does not have the schematic like that one has. So it looks like the supply that Gary B built for the FET 10 would also work here?
After reading the old threads on the FET 10 again I'm thinking of using the supply kit that 6L6 suggest in an old post http://chipamp.com/chipamp-power-supply-kit/
Also thinking of using the Antek 3218 300VA but I see that it has a max current rating of 8.3amps and the supply kit diodes are rated at 8 amps, will this be a problem? Also do I need the two thermistors and line cap before the transformer?

xformer - more VA , the merrier (only your wallet knows when it's overkill
)
diodes will never see 8A through them with preamp's minuscule power consumption , so they're good
each primary having dedicated NTC is good thing , cap too

Anyone know what brand and size connectors were used on the power supply cable?
Mini XLR.
I've added photo's of the supply. Can someone please take a look at the ground connection to see if it's right? I have the two supply's grounds tied together with a jumper and connected to earth at the IEC. Should it be earth to case, PS to case or something else?

xformer case to safety gnd
then :
if you have 3+1 cable (where 1 is screen) route PS rails with 3 wires and safety gnd via screen to preamp case ; screen connected to mini XLR housing
in preamp case then connect audio gnd through CL60 to case
if you're having 3 conductor cable , connect audio gnd to safety gnd via CL60 in xformer case and route PS rails to preamp case , then connect preamp case to audio gnd
I prefer first solution

Thanks Zen Mod for the quick reply. After looking over your suggestions I have a question, would a preamp case to audio ground connection already exist in its stock form?
If you have the case grounded like in your second example then that would be the one to use? The only reason I ask is that the cable I have would allow for the first example also.

When you're at it, you can consider changing the ancient 470uF caps on the mainboard as well. Nelson likes the Silmics so that could be a good start!
It's funny you should say that as I'm looking at a bag of Silmics and a bag of panasonic fr's, don't know which to use. There are two 220uf's in the phono stage as well that need to go
