I am replacing all five fuses in my thirty year old Threshold 400A amp and was told by the manufacturer that the fuses are directional. Does anyone know if the power flows from the back panel towards the front or from the front towards the back of the amp?
Thanks.....Gary

Gary,

I was thinking about fuse holder wiring when building my last amp.
If the AC is coming in on the front section or ring of the fuse holder, the AC is dangerously close to the outside edge of the chassis.
Although the fuse breaks, the AC is still present from the line side of the IEC, unless you unplug your power cord.

If the AC line is soldered to the tip or backend of the fuse holder, it's more difficult to touch AC by accident if an inexperienced person removes a fuse without removing the power cord.

How is this relevant? Well, if you follow the AC line side of IEC to the fuse, you can see the direction of power flow. You can do the same for DC lines and speaker line protection. Just have to know where the DC or AC sources is.
