Threadjacking

Rotarty Rodent Carnage

Found this as I came into work one day last week, stuck on a friend's car. I was stunned to silence at what I saw. I've never seen anything like it. (Except, when it was -30C in my hometown, and some sicko made frozen 'death thrall' sculptures in the high snowbank out of two critters (pets) that had been run over by cars. Very Romanesque, they were. A touch of bombast and royalty about them.)

I have no idea how this happened. There's an interesting story in there. A mystery it will remain.

All I know, is it covers more emotions in one shot, than many things I have come across, in quite some time. This, is classically known as perversion, the emplacement of multiple emotions in a place and space where there should only be one.

Humor, black at that, sadness, horror, grossness, empathy, pity, more humor, sick at that, disgust etc.

What the hell am I taking about? Wait until you see the picture.

This will likely end up as a 'classic' internet image..passed on for years. Which is why this high-rez original is important! 😛

How pleasant. :whazzat:

I hope the mouse haunts the evildoer for the rest of his years!

Let's post some productive threadjacks, which is the main motive for a threadjack anyways!

That photo is morbid, which means that it is unhealthy to look at. I wish not to look at morbid photos. Once is enough!

Quite a waste of talent, artistic or otherwise, if you ask me.

I have an idea!
Lets post polls! How do you do that, anyways?

What do you expect from a professional photographer? I didn't have my camera that day and the staff photographer grabbed his gear and made that close up. Which I didn't think was nessesary. I had to tell him to stop. He made about 20 photos. Some more garish than that! I didn't want a close up.

but here's one point, the other side of the coin for a moment: Life is inherently unpretty. To not understand that is to lie to yourself. No matter what society may say. The joke that society can be, that is. Which ...it usually is. It's not all roses, rainbows, blue skies, Fred Astaire dances, and fart igniting. For example, my Mother is nursing a dying husband with lung cancer - into his grave, right now. A christmas present from the universe. We all get them like that. Sooner or later.

Joy of life, etc. All the good stuff too. But there are darker moments. I for one, don't hide from them. But I don't wallow in them. My family members and I have a habit of cracking jokes at funerals. What else is there to do? I'm sure the departed would appreciate a good joke too. Ohterwise, we would not have known them, or associated with them. 😀

And the Irish, oh the Irish. Anyone here ever been to a wake and drank beer with a corpse? Now there's a bunch with a sense of humor.

Being that my mother is of the descent perhaps I should explain.

You see, in the old days before refrigeration, when someone passed away they began to take on a most unpleasant odour rather quickly. So the Irish had this habit of getting the dirty work out of the way before moving on to more important things like drinking. Well, every once in a while they were a bit hasty and one of these overly "relaxed" individuals would awaken from their stupor to the unpleasant sensation of dirt on their foreheads and would immediately protest the whole goings on. As you can imagine, this gave quite a start to those in attendance.

A new plan was needed:

If someone was late for work and were still found in bed at by the time the sun was going down, they were gathered around by their friends and co-workers that evening. They would have a song and a laugh and of course a drink. The thought being that with all that going on, if he has any shot at it, the guy has to WAKE up doesn't he? If not, we'll bury him in the morning before he starts to stink.

Hey, you gave him a chance didn't you?

[History according to Cal]

KBK, I understand your point.

Life is definitely not always pretty, which is why we make ourselves pretty and grit our teeth.

This is a late post because I have 6 tabs open in FireFox and have been working on other things. Among those was my last post, which I opened after I had begun on this one.

Wtf?

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

This is not a faked photo. (From the University of Johannesburg)

This is a parasite that 'replaces' (eats it away?) the tounge in a fish..and lives in it's stead. Apparently, uses the stub as an anchor to stay in the 'line of food fire'. It likely grows into this position from a much smaller size. I dunno. Only a guess. Gross enough. But hey, people have had bigger tape worms, relatively speaking. Kinda reminds me of a specific country.

Ucky. Good thing too. Thought we had a real case of ALIEN there for a minute.

Wait a minute.

We do.
