Thread Closure - Another Alternative

Hi Pete,
But it does get tiring, and laughing does not help keep the good threads going that end up closed.
Yes. I am in full agreement with you.

The moderating team really hates to get dragged into things like that. We especially hate having to clean up or close a thread. We all have much better things to do with our time.

I am hoping that mentioning actions that individuals can take themselves may spur some of us to try these things out. I would love it if we all could do these things.

Moved to the off topic forum where it belongs.

See? There's a mod on the job right now.

Believe me when I say that there is no such list.

Oh good, I'm glad I'm not missing anything. I sometimes wish the general membership could take a peek in the back room to see how we solve the less than desirable situations. I think very few would disagree with how things are handled. Unfortunately they see only the result which leaves them guessing and assuming.

We have to be so careful about hurting anyones feelings.[/B]

And when you can't see the delivery even emoticons don't tell the story. I've oft writ while laughing only to reread and wonder if offense might be taken. Oh well, I just type me a happy face and make it all better. 🙂

Babysitting is the least rewarding part, but you take the bad with the good.

I think we all just need a big :grouphug:

On the topic of attention the lack of perspective and hypocrisy
that can be displayed here in the form of threads of continual
petty personal projection and diatribes against someone not
on the moderators favourites list is truly amazing.

Hi,

Not sure what the moderators favourite list has to do with it
but I'd say anyone who insists they are being subject to such
treatment, and therefore is getting petty and personal, needs
some perspective and should avoid hypocrisy themselves.

It is tautological, and quickly who is "offended" and who
is being "offensive" blurs into pointless contradiction.

There is the rub, IMO. Pot, kettle, black and all that.
A reasonable person cannot have it both ways.
