yes my friend have that too , it eiol devrease the mid and high frequency reflection ,, yhe sound will be more quite
xover should where?????????and the crossover stays in a very bad environment...the box!
Ya, makes a big difference in sound.
Visited once someone complaining about bad sound of his expensive speakers but he had one side of the room with glass and nearly no damping at all.
He later invested into better, expensive parts for the crossover but refused to do any room tuning because of design reasons.
'Phool. What did he expect the "upgrade" to achieve?
It's like fixing a car firing on 3 cylinders by upgrading the paintwork.
I could not help him.
Some people spend a lot of money but do not know enough about the physics behind it.
I enjoyed a lot reading the AES (audio engineering society) journals compendiums about loudspeakers.
Of that kind I read the first three compendiums
https://books.google.de/books?id=ub...io+engineering+society&hl=de&sa=X&redir_esc=y
Even without maths you learn a lot. I own half a dozen books about loudspeaker theory... dont know what I would do without that knowledge.
Here is one for free in german to download

Its from elektor, goetz schwamkrug...

I'm working on stuff in the background as money and parts become available. Got some work lamps last week and I just filled the box with some scraps of fibreglass and some pre-felt scrap wool used as insulation in dog food transport.
PVC glue and waiting for glue to dry.
All these will eventually get glued to an OSB panel and the whole thing fixed to the ceiling of my shed. I've no idea if it will work or not but if I put a layer of FFL behind it there will be some added thermal insulation at a minimum
