Hello All.
Trying to get my grandad's old TD 150 going. Motor spins fine, but the ceramic looking resistor near the speed adjust starts getting very hot and starts smoking. It is accompanied by a yellow axial 10nF 220v capacitor which was oozing gunge.
I've replaced this with another yellow audio cap rated 10nF 400v. The problem persists and the resistor starts to overheat.
What value is this resistor so I can replace it? It looks ceramic, has no markings on it. Anyone with another TD150 between 1965 and '70 with unmodified internals could maybe help me. The resistor is big, about an inch along the ceramic....
Any help will be hugely appreciated. Apart from this issue the inside is like new - the tunrntable has hardly been used.
Cheers,
Lee 🙂

Hi!
Resistor 5,6K/ 3W, only for 220/240 50Hz!
Replace another capacitor near resistor "10nF".

I have change the resistor and the cap on my TD 150 couple a weeks ago the value on these to part was 5,6K 2W and 0,33uF 400V for the old parts I change it too same specs.

As others have pointed out you probably need to replace the 0.33uf capacitor as well.
