I'm thinking of building Thor with Raven 1.0 ribbon tweeter.
The Orcadesign (maker of Raven) suggest 6th order Xover for the R1.
And I want to use this which shifts the Xover point of 2.5 kHz of Thor.
I guess the Xover is complecated 2nd order LR filter.
Refer the Xover Design (http://seas.no/kit/FILTER_THOR_ODIN.pdf)
And I am considering to change 1.0 mH with 1.2 mH.
But, I don't have any clue about the other parts.
Which are L2, C1, R1..
Are those constants?
Please help me...

That would be interesting... i would think that getting the XO right might be a challenge.
And if you build it you might consider restoring the cabinet size back to its originally designed size to gain back the bass lost when Joe ignored the "scientific design" and shrunk the box by a 3rd. There are some more radical mods i'd do to this design, but that is another thread.

Hi,
I agree with Planet10 (on both points) and if you don't have much previous experience with designing X'overs, nor with the characteristics of these drivers, you could find yourself in a heap of problems.
It seems that the tweeters, for example have quite different requirements X'over-wise (6th order -v- 2nd) and both of these drivers are rather expensive to 'throw away' if they don't turn out to be a good sonic match with each other, which frequently happens.
I wouldn't wish to discourage you from trying, but at this level of financial outlay, do make sure of what you are getting into before you spend the dollars.🙂

Thank you for the answers.
I got one sample of this tweak.
But, it uses W17 instead of W18.

That looks much better then adapting the Thor TL kit. I thought that 2khz was a little too low to crossover the raven tweeter, if you want it to last without replacing the ribbons every once and a while.
I built the Seas Thor TL kit as my first speaker a few months ago, and I love it. After hearing how well the Millenium tweeter integrates with the W18 woofers, I wouldn't think of swapping with a raven, and reworking the crossover anytime soon.

(i just realized that my website was the first thing that comes up when I search for "thor tl" on google... scary)

Thanks Brian..
I must say sorry for the picture.
I stole it to my web page. TT..

If you mind, I will erase the picture.
Anyway, I guess I won't build the Thor with Raven after your opinion.
But, the Xover design would be an interesting explor.
I will write if I try.
Thanks again.

I have no problem with you using the picture of my speakers on you webpage. I actually didn't see that you used the picture until you mentioned it. and am not at all offended.
Good luck with your project.
