Hi,

Only with very well chosen matching drivers, and of course in choosing
drivers the required x/o is a big part of matching the drivers. Distortion
matching is the other major issue, not just the frequency response.

Its an interesting design to compare to other attempts : RS180-RS28 MTM

Some of them are so ineptly overcomplicated, especially the 2.5 way,
which misses the simple trick of applying the high pass and notch EQ
to both drivers and then adding a 0.5 inductor to the 0.5 way driver.

Hi,

I think you are being very obscure in what you are saying.
The Thor cabinet on the Seas website is not the "Thor cabinet" ?
So what cabinet is the "Thor" that is only good for one midbass ?
Unless I've missed something and Seas have updated the Thor ?
How do you know whatever version of the cabinet the OP has ?

Only in that you must have missed the Clairty on the SEAS Thor thread.

Joe blew the TL in the original Thor design, SEAS measuring it down to 100 Hz, and Joe, when he measured it, effectively measuring it with a single driver to confirm its performance.

In the afore mentioned thread 3 new TLs were developed to fix the problem... this enclosure is, i believe, one of those 3.

Hi,

Based on what evidence ? Nevermind the fact that you intimated
earlier that S7's quoted cabinet is one of the 3 when its the original.

Any Thor cabinet available without drivers is very likely to be be the
original design and available simply because its known to be wrong.

Being obscure is not being clever, its a misuse of knowledge.

My assumption is its the original design, that only only suits
one Seas driver well, a mistake, but that doesn't matter as
the Dayton MTM will suit the cabinet better anyway.

The 60L SEAS Thor Cabinet was designed for a driver around Qts=0.32. It works, very nicely. Joe knew what he was doing. 😎

The W18E001 is a late substitution, for reasons I really don't understand. That needs 100L as any fool can work out. 😉

My own suggestion, the ER18RNX happens to work perfectly in 60L too. Am I good or am I good? 😱

Yes planet 10 is correct!!! - I have the "FAT Thors" - I got them from Julian. They were going to get thrown out and i did'nt want to see them go to waste...
I have always been interested in building a speaker project, but time and "wood working" skills are minimal at best..
You guys are experts compared to me...what you guys "forgot" I will never know...
So im hoping for a little advice on what other options are out there for this kind of cabinet
