Why is Vas 3200 liters unreasonable? It is a 31.5 INCH woofer equivalent to 80 cm...meaning that it is a *fairly* large woofer.
Check the datasheet as usual and you'll see. I remember this one from way back and it even has lats in the cone to stiffen it.

Good news, guys. It has a flat frequency response all the way up to 1500 Hz.
Get yourself a couple of piezo tweeters that go down to 1.8kHz and you have a 2-way speaker, LOL. 😉 😉

that is LARGE!
was 21"
halo - needs a bigger room to use such ones!

The biggest I have read about, so far,UrSv said:Why is Vas 3200 liters unreasonable? It is a 31.5 INCH woofer equivalent to 80 cm...meaning that it is a *fairly* large woofer.

The largest I knew of was the 24" Precision Devices driver in those Turbosound subs which has a pretty high trouser flapping factor. Needs a monster amp mind......
Don't know if they still make this:

Clarion SRW8000 edgewise voice coil subwoofer

Specs: 80 cm polypropylene cone woofer

Resonance-free aluminium die-cast speaker frame

Symmetrical magnetic circuit principle

Edgewise voice coil (4 Ohm; mono-drive)

Rear-vented pole piece

Dual laminated cloth surround

Gold-plated quick terminals

Non-oxidising lead wires

Fs: 17 Hz / Qts: 0.4 / Vas: 312.9 litres

Recommended crossover frequency: 50 Hz

Efficiency: 97 dB/W/m

the site lists £1400.00 each

This baby here is using the Magnat 30" driver that was originally intended for car audio:

They talk about 80 centimetres which comes quite close to 30" AFAIK. I am convinced they would be capable of moving a lot more air than this 15 year old Fostex model is capable of !!!
BTW: A couple of newer 18" would do the same trick, and maybe even for cheaper.
They once had one of these Magnat drivers in a car-audio demo environment at a "Media Markt" (the mid European version of "Circuit City"). When they ran this thingie even at modest levels you could feel it on your chest throughout the whole store.
At the Swiss high-end show last autumn they were demonstrating a pair of these Magnat vintage-model Speakers. The level setting of the woofer however was not that good. They turned them up way too much in order to sound balanced (they preferred the show effect IMO).

Seen that before, that´s sick😀
Impressing with 110dB/1W/1m.. but.....
.. when they say NO distortion I´m leaving the site.
At least they could say LOW dist.

For me, that basshorn site falls under the category of things that have been done to death. Every once in a while, someone comes on who says, "Hey, look how big this is!!" and I'm like, "..."
The biggest Subwoofer I have seem pictures of was 5foot high, (60inches/150cm) But I am unable to find pictures of it now.. 🙁 It was apparently mounted in teh back of an old reinforced bread truck, and the guy used to enter it in competitions until the truck imploded and he was disqualified..

I have once seen a picture of a woofer (I don't know if you can call it like that since I doubt that it's upper cutoff frequency even comes close to 20 Hz) made by Mitsubishi. It was intended for earth-quake simulations !!!! It had a diameter of 160 cm and it used a field-coil as magnet.
Regarding the horn subwoofer form the link posted by Netlist:
I have not done any calculations on this but from guessing I think the mouths of these horns are way tooooooo small for horns of this expansion rate.
