Don't you know that discussion on religion is forbidden here?
Who said anything about religion? This Jesus guy really did exist and so did Kiafus, Governor Pilot, and the Emperor’s Rome. History is history. However, generally too many people do not seem to care or think it applies to them. Part of the reason our world is in the predicament we are in, IMHO.........

It was Pilate, and this:
"wonderful job at getting the Jewish mobs to demand he be put down for heresy"
Is religion.
Now WTF was this thread about again? Oh that's right - good / bad movies.
Now who has seen the Spice Girls movie? Is it worth a $5 rental? That Mel B is f%$k'n hot!

what about these?
what about these?
Plan X from Outer Space, Fat Guy Goes Nutzoid, and anything do do with Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller (CHUD).
Don't forget Cujo and all the alligator movies.

U-571 was a bit on the poor side, not to mention un-true.
Commando was a poor effort with The Governator, but I suppose you gotta laugh, who writes his one-liners ?
The re-make of The Ladykillers - Tom Hanks...Alec Guiness. Not waving the flag here (at all !!, truly) but poor effort Mr. Hanks.
How about the opposite then....I thought 'pi' by Darren Aronofsky was pretty cool when it came out but I am veering off here. Crap films only.

Ugh. I meant “religion” as in myth; not grounded in reality. The Jews were a persecuted minority, not a powerful political force in Rome at the time. Stress a few brain cells and put this “Jews topped Jesus” BS in to historical perspective please!
Back on topic; yeah

To put yourselves into context, how about we now ask what movies are on your top-10 list?
It seems there are apples and oranges here in terms of personality. In light of this, said context would be useful to aid the casual viewer in understanding whatever is to be understood by viewing this thread. (If I only told you what movies I liked, you would only see half the picture. But if I listed off the ones I liked and didn't like, you would probably see the angle I approach them at and be in a position more conducive to a constructive action)

The worst movie in existence was...
I can't say it. I was on the crew. It's too embarrassing. But I will say it starred Lorenzo Lame-asz.

These three movies I will never forget.
CITY OF GOD
REQUIEM FOR A DREAM
KIDS
I can't say these were BAD, (quite the opposite), but they were EXTREMELY PAINFUL to watch...

Hmm... bad movies; 'b' movies don't count... every recent, over-rated, mega-buck, throw-back blockbuster has pissed me off lately, especially crap with transforming trucks and Tom Hanks solving mysteries (damn you Opie). Movies for folks with absolutely no imagination. Movies that pull the viewer by a leash from beginning to end making sure that nothing is left for curiosity, full of pointless character development, but still manage to make the target audience feel "smart". Later, those target market sheep discuss these great works by retelling plot twists or character factoids that were bluntly given to them in the movie and feeling proud of how they figured it out. Oh! and don't forget the twists and turns!
A recent movie fad that drives me crazy is the obvious formula for a blockbuster. You take something that today's middle aged boys were into twenty years ago and you make it into a movie. G.I.Joe, Spiderman, Speed Racer, Transformers, X-Men...etc. All they need to do is make it sexy, loud, full of amazing effects and make up or retell some new bullsh!t secret about the origin of the hero. Blah!
I also hate the last/first Star Wars, Indiana Jones and the crystal skull whatever.
As for my good list...Pan's Labyrinth, Memento, Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns, Wolf Creek, Factotum, Dr.Strangelove, Pulp Fiction, Akira Kurosawa's films, Funny Games, Happiness, Knife In The Water, Stalker... there are so many, many good movies that there is no need to watch crap.

Just finished reading two works of non-fiction that I think could make brilliant book-to-screen adaptations.
Thinking of just how much lamer and uninteresting Oliver Stone’s “W” would look, in comparison to a no holds barred docudrama based on this charming couple:
An maybe if some one like Lee Tamahiro who did Once Were Warriors were to do a faithful screen adaptation from beginning to end of this woman’s somewhat less than ordinary (to put it mildly) life story........

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
