I have luck running a sub with the full range driver instead of boosting the schmoo out of the driver or even crossing the driver over at 100hz even. I'm not keen on the maybe 12-18db filter @80hz to the sub. If I couldn't hear a slot resonance, I'd prefer the 6db f-mod @80hz. But, overall it works great for low to medium volume, especially watching Babylon 5.
I'd flatten that 1-4khz with the filter mentioned by larrldspkr in post #131.
"try a 3k notch filter. 10uf cap .3mh coil and 6-10 ohm resistor, all in parallel and in series with the driver. This worked well for me, and I didn't use BSC filter just the notch."

pi running picoreplayer or moode to boss dac, to Bride iof of zen-jfet preamp, to amp camp amps. Im so. Excited!
I realize this thread is a bit old. Wondering if this design could be run as a 1.5 to help the base response and speed a bit. Like Omega HO, or the Betsy Deuce?
The bass on the Wibaq goes down to easily to 40Hz - do you need more than that? Just get a $100 HT 10in ported sub and cross below 80Hz and you will be happy.
I'm curious, what is the minimum room size that a WIBAQ will happily play in?
Sorry for late response - haven’t been here for a while. I would guess about 15ft x 20ft would be about minimum.

I didn't realize that they went down that low. Must have miss read something along the way. Thank you for the reply XRK.

Suitable LPAD
Is this LPAD suitable to use in place of resistors in the baffle step circuit of a WIBAQ?
Eminence PX-LPAD Crossover L-Pad Attenuator
I like this from a ease of use standpoint, it has numbers to allow consistent adjustment between each speaker, and it should resist spinning if turned too hard.
If this is not suitable, why not and do you have any suggestions?
Thanks, Jim

As long as the L-Pad is low inductance (not a wirewound rheostat) it should work. This is a 100w rated 8ohm nominal, so sounds perfect it it lets you dial in from 0ohms to 8ohms.
