Yes, they work well. I'm not sure about TQWT or the like.....
But I just stuff to capacity and drill holes 1 by 1 and measure for a correct aperiodic response.
I actually used it on this build for a TL and I think it attenuated it too much so it ended up as a TL aperiodic, there was some output at the end of the line but it was very low in frequency.

I know you are a tc9fd fan, there is an idea someone just suggested for a diamond array of these at the middle of a Cornu spiral in the foam core board thread if you are interested. http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/full-range/223313-foam-core-board-speaker-enclosures-33.html post 323

Does anybody know of a flat black paint that"s actually flat?
there's a sheen on this shite!

Try Aeroglaze Z306 optically flat paint used for optical baffles (telescopes, etc). Or add more carbon black to your own paint. Easy source is used laser printer cartridges.
Wow dats alotta drivahs! 😀😀😀 How are you wiring them?
5x5 N impedance 8 ohms
my fingers hurt!

I can't find that stuff for sale.
I cant really add carbon. I don't have a spray set up.

Sprinkle toner powder on wet paint, brush off loose after it dries, seal lightly with artists pastel drawing spray sealant.
Mucho black....😀
The aeroglaze might be pricey.

I'm not famiiar with this terminology. 5 in series and 5 of those in parallel to get 8 ohms? Did you crimp or solder?
Yes exactly, 5x5. Icrimped.
I don't usually solder because I reuse the drivers in new designs.
This is where these drivers came from.....

The Event Horizon is a sick, crazy, awesome project! 😱😱😱😀😀😀 Very nicely done man! I noticed you were using the miniDSP - how do you like those for active crossovers? Is there a thread that discusses them? If I were to do OB, I would biamp and use those.
Thanx brother!
Yeah, the mini dsp is great but the mini ambio is where the magic happens 😀
By the way, I like your foam core thread. I see you are a nutter like me 😱

Here, gainphile started a thread.....
There is a link where it was tested.

..no, that "forward thinking" (..not "nutty".) 😉

Well, I didn't want to say "forward thinker" like me.
That wouldn't be very humble would it?
