I've hear of hair-of-the-dog, but not hair-of-the-cow.

...the smell of old vintage guitar cases.....I suppose it's nitrocellulose Lacquer infused fuzzy case lining.

If I pop one open now that smell brings me right back to my teenage years.

...so does the smell of castrol or bel-ray oils......back in the 2 stroke heyday.

In the 1980's I was never given a solder fume extractor.
One day the boss brought his daughter in to have a go at soldering.
Out came a fume extractor ! I wasnt good enough to have one but she was.

I find some solders smoke more than others.
I use a fan blowing away from me to suck solder fumes away.

I used todo astrophotography and camped out in some serious low temps (ie frozen water in the kettle and icicles off the car, so must have been around 0degF). The smell of bacon cooking in the morning on the camp stove..

Also used to windsurf as a kid, the smell of the sea!
