The Sincron turntable

Hey Academia! A 1971 pretty intact C71H just has landed on my hands. By pretty intact I mean it has almost all its original parts, but literaly petrified. Every rubber part, including the idler wheel is rock solid! 🙀 The thing is like a fossil!
As it is rust free and the plinth and the acrylic lid are in decent condition, I am evaluating the convenience of a full restoration.

Saludos

the tracking angle error when I got the Sincron, I just sold it shortly after I bought it new. It was probably not optimal.
This was a very common issue. We had one of the first proper alignment protracter and I don’t recall any that didn’t have to have to twist the cartridge in the headshell. 1000s of tables could not guess how many unique

I think I wouldn't waste my time, anyway, it depends
the physical conditions of the environment in which you are going to use it, if it is for a small room, you will have to work hard to avoid acoustic coupling, and there is no guarantee of a good result. Some are still listed for sale and appear to be in good condition.

PS: I have a capsule holder as a gift for you if you decide, but remember that we are experiencing many unpleasant moments here, so I will take my precautions if you want to pick it up. It's simple, you send me photocopies of your identity document, gas and electricity bills, birth certificate, place of residence and exact address to verify with Google Maps, etc, etc. 😉😆

That is a purely commercial problem, because WAF rules in most homes (not mine, of course!)
Just by buying one of these, the angle error is drastically reduced. 😳

I agree, actually I'm more inclined to do nothing with that tt, just leave it to continue its process of fossilisation... 😆
Is the irony of a good platter built on an awful machine.
There are lots of those published in ML, I know.
