Well i decided to take a few minutes out of my exausting schedule
to post on this next projector

this pj is the 7th project i have taken on and its for one of our fellow diyers in this fourm

the specs for this pj are as follows

lcd-cmv1515
fresnel-diylabs 12.2 "split and cut by me"
lamp-diylabs 250w mh kit
objective lens-diylabs triplet
reflector-ace3000_1 special
condensor-ace3000_1 special

well i decided to make this one a little different i'm gonna
use 2 trapizoids to give the pj a smaller footprint and cut
down on the big **** box size

here are a few pics of the project so far
first i began construction on the rear trapizoid measure twice cut once is the best advise i can give anyone

next i had to tackel that damn cmv wich was no easy task to build a frame for seing that it had the fpc gate ribbon and an extra pcb
so i modifyed my origonal lcd frame design and it worked ok

i know i know your gonna say "omg its wood ,wood is no good, wood is no good and i think you should" i dont care what anyone says about wood it a very easy material to use and theres no way its gonna catch on fire unless you place your bulb on it

well anyways heres the lcd frame

next i figured i'm gonna use the light tube design but its getting mounted outside the projector and its hard to controll light leakage in a straight pipe without cutting down on air flow so i made a few modifacations to the tube design as well

hi reclaimdead welcome to the fourm
thanks for the kind words on this project
as for your reflector question a reflector will increase the total light output of any projector because it will make use of the light coming off the back of the arc instead of just letting it escape behind the bulb

its real easy to get a straight line on plexiglass because it comes with a protective film on it just take a razor blade cut your line peel the cut piece off and paint let it cure then peel the rest of the film off and paint over the whole piece and your first coat wil have a razor sharp edge

i have a work shop set up in my basement but its small and i need to expand im in the prosses of building a garage but the damn war put a damper on material costs so its gonna be a while before i can get back to that project

by the way if anyone is interested in using plexiglass for a light chamber get some aluminum spray paint it will stop light in its tracks !! ok i gotta stop rambling

i just use matt black spray paint bud, no light comes through mine at all, just put on a thick coat and make sure its enamel for those who dont know as acrylic eats plexi cos plexi is acrylic (bad chemical reaction Guys).

BTW, another good GFJ man!!!!

well here we go again today i started construction on the box
it measures 13" tall X19"wide X10" deep i was able to keep the box size small because i opted to put the light tube outside the box

heres a pic of the rough box "just think if you decide to buy a comercial pj you could flip it over silicone the corners and have a nice 15 gallon fishtank" lol j/k

hehehehe now if u make one for property im sure he would silicon it up with the gear in it and use it as a fish tank to keep the projector cool lol

nice job keep up the good work bud!
