From one former DNA researcher I can say that although the vikings in fact ruled a big part of the british islands a few decenniums it has left very little DNA footprints on todays population. The Norman invasion 1066 and forward left more footprints then king Knut and his raiders. And even if Normandie (Normans) also was a Viking settlement it left very few nordic traces. Most of the footsoldiers was of course by french origin, although led by viking commanders.
Its more common to find DNA relationship between the hebrides and the scottish costline and the nordics. It was a common trade route.
My male DNA has its closest relations in West Gothia Sweden and in the Scottish east coast. Most likely an ancestor who settled there.

In honour of Easter, I was feeling a little amorous and asked my honey where she was keeping the eggs.
Holy crap, what did I say wrong?
< Sigh > another night on the couch.

I actually had an office near by, in a launch facility... no windows, huge thick walls and roof, the doors were... blast proof, naturally. Even the interior doors which we never closed in case we got locked in....
That BBC stuff is for woosies... you wanna see real volts, watts, NOISE, VIBRATION... those MX missiles were the BOMBs... for real!
@Cal Weldon Get back to the Food Channel.... 😉
