well, define context of your question, then maybe you'll get proper answer

yesterday codyt posted some measurements of same sex JFet buffer with 3+3 of 2SK170 (Iron Pre thread, I believe)

it is pretty much applicable for comparable for-audio-Toshiba JFets, be it TO92 or smd package, if conditions are the same (not exceeding dissipation limits of small ones)

anything else - define what is interesting you

Right, I see. So I just trust the datasheet and do the math of paralleling the jfets until I get the desired total.

What is interesting me is that I'd like to explore whether I could put my skills in SMD soldering to use by providing a service of combining small SMD JFETS and producing an end result of a through hole part with specifications closer to something of our old friends. Because there's a lot of people who can't solder SMD and avoid certain projects because of it, certain projects that don't have pads for smd, or certain parts that don't exist anymore. And additional to that, buying these jfets (the toshiba ones for example) in bulk is a lot cheaper.

That being said, I can still get J111's for about twelve cents a piece, which is less than the k209's

yup, but you can't get results of 209 with 111

Toshiba's title "for audio" is well justified

regarding service work you're writing of - go and try

there is only one way to see is it needed by Greedy Boyz, and is it going to be commercially feasible, both for you and them

in any case - try it, use your youth to try whatever come to your mind (just don't do drugs :clown: )

oh dear me. Yes I should do more of those streams. I actually have a lot of equipment for professional stream quality. I'm just too tired most times. But I'm moving soon and I hope I can actually... build myself a rig for the camera without that "waiting to do it cause I know I won't live here long-come". Adhd that.

If there's anything specific you'd like to see me make or go over or document, by all means, let me know. I almost never know what to do... Or rather, what to choose to do :')

projects I've planned:
  • Class A amp with efficiency so bad, I'm pre-emptively repurposing it as an electronic load
  • Discrete linear regulator in a beautiful layout, because sexy
  • finish my modifications on the FreeDSP SMD B files
  • rectifier boards for Sony transformer I have
  • Triac based controller for my little hot plate
  • modify my Behringer UMC204HD
  • Unwinding a transformer to get slightly lower voltage so I can use a big *** class D amp without frying it with too much voltage
  • adding a second winding to said transformer and remove the linear regulator on the main board to free up current capability on the toroidal transformer for the amp
  • Assemble the H2 boards in to a case with stupid-simple volume control and optional output buffer w/ ne5532 (for the purpose of having pre out and volume controlled out without any issues for tube amps)
  • get therapy
  • Make more TO-92stein transistors to see if the 2SK209-GR frankenstein sell-thing will be viable
  • If said project above is viable, use them in a Class AB amp design from the forums
  • make a machine that keeps my water at room temp cause I hate drinking tap water straight out of the waterlines!
  • Linear PSU for my DSP (because I can)
  • Linear supply for @waxx 's BA Linestage preamp that will have more outboard gear
  • replacement for my iNuke NU3000DSP, so I can listen to music AND experiment with mods!
  • Find &/ make a design for a headphone amp that uses the BD139/140 transistors I have a ton of matched pairs of (unless they're valuable and people want to buy them from me??)

O.K. then I open the next bottle of Székely Sör, while I listening some of my favourite Stockfisch record songs.
That is a total satisfaction and nirvana.
