Butter Roll mornings and Wild Turkey afternoons (for xmas)
As probably you know, I have a STM-610, for more than ten years.
It definitely needed a little brother.
So there it is.
Now the siblings needs some tapes to play, I have found some:
PINK FLOYD MEDDLE JAPAN REEL TO REEL TAPE TOSHIBA OXA-5084 4TRACK 7 2/1IPS RARE | eBay
or this:
PINK FLOYD THE WALL 15ips 2 TRACK Reel To Reel Record MASTER TAPE | eBay
Any other idea?

I'm quite sure, I've mentioned it before, this is one of my favourite quotes from Papa:
"But again, I don't have deeply held feelings about the sound of CD vs vinyl.
They're different. And I suppose if I really had my druthers I would take a nice,
high-speed, non-Dolby analog tape.
Some of the best things I've ever heard came from that source."

I'm curious, he thinks it similarly these days?

Anyway, it doesn't matter for me.
I'm sure for a long time ago, sound quality mostly depend on circumstances of recording equipment, knowledge of sound engineer.
Sound reproduction media is a secondary factor, I'm sure of that.
Above a certain level.
And what is this level?
Good question.
For me, it is double balanced Sony Vfets, first of all.
Otherwise, I'm happy with my more or less restored hearing, what can I say anymore?
I have beers, nothing else matters.
