You want cool?
This is me and my car 'Rambo' about 30 years ago. 🙂
I lost my picture of me in horn-rimmed glasses and mutton chops with my Gremlin. Wearing two different plaid patterns completed the picture.
Found another good pic on line of AUY 33 (above) at a rally. A lot of love has gone into her restoration. You will see two spare tyres mounted on the rear...this was standard. The original warped engine had real factory tuning...overbored by 50cc per cylinder, copper plated head (Make a great heatsink for a Pass amp!), oversize down draught SUs.
The second car is another rebuild - but of an ordinary production style.
I had shared ownership of AUY33 - the ash frame was weak at the rear so we rebuilt it and used braced marine ply as floors. The other guy, David, was sawing the 8'x4' sheet of ply and sawed his mothers kitchen table in two!!! [He too was a Dodo.] We had a lot of fun with that car. 🙂

Nice HiFi Stereo
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
She'll need a set of re-threads by now! But I bet was a great sports model - in her day; easy to steer and comfortable !!

Sounds like you had some fun with it.Found another good pic on line of AUY 33 (above) at a rally.
The vintage pic I posted is a 1930 1.5L Aston Martin International 2/4, dry sumped engine, OHC, twin SU's, full instruments, swirled alloy dash and firewall.
This car was owned by E.W Bertelli, the original coach builders so has some interesting history too.
Still in regular use to AM rallies all over the country, the prettiest example of the genre I have seen.
Dan.
That is an early Aston. [At the time I was messing around with Morgans you could pick up the more common Aston Le Mans for around UK£250.00; now they are a king's ransome. At the same time a Morgan 4/4 in standard trim, running but needing TLC was around UK£30.00......Now they are upward of c.UK£20,000 in VGC.]
Makes my 3LQ Audi feel under-endowed....but comparisons are odious!
What is the distance for that strip?
