)...we have to ''not expect much'' to get what we want. you can read ''war'' and ''geopolitical'' and ''philosophical'' books to help comprehend the world (Sun Tzu is in my mind right now but there are plenty of others)
one thing that helped me and may help you:
exercising, practice a sport regularely, even alone or a unintensive exercice like walking (especially outside)
it makes your brain secrete ''relaxation particules'' (i don't remember the name).

Christmas dinner is cooking as I write this (pork chops simmered in salsa). The chops are getting browned right now after being rubbed with sage & black pepper - next comes the simmering in the oven. I'm simmering my insides with a humble French red table wine called L'Authentique. Some of that will go in the dish with the chops.
