(for the foreseeable future, I'm only interested in sizeable boxes, 6.5' length minimum and preferably with a beach & bridge proof coating)
Re my previous post - I visited Zen's link to his page describing the Hitachi refurb/redesign, and answered my own silly-*** question. Interesting reading...
I just remembered I have a preamp design from back in the 1989/1990 time frame utilizing cascaded complimentary differential jfet stages (inspired by the Hitachi app note) with small mosfets at the outputs (Supertex mosfets with smallest die (VN/VP01) in TO-220 package - not made any more). The preamps are more or less complete, but probably need tweaking, dust removal, and corrections for the RIAA equalization filter. It might be interesting to wake them up, package them in some rudimentary way, and haul them to BA 16. The design is way more complex then what I usually do these days. It may be interesting to see if the extra fiddling around is worth it. The boards (homemade PCB) are also a showcase for lots of obsolete parts.

Hey dodos. Long time no visit. Lots going on including results from the doctor.
I am going to die.
Thankfully it isn't likely to happen soon unless I forget to look both ways before crossing.
Physio starts next week and the cardiologist is on Tuesday. If you don't see me posting for a while, you'll know I forgot to look both ways.
