now I'm as Tief...uberbass ( name funny almost as ZM"s
)
here is search I made locally:
diyAudio - Search Results
edit ...... ZM running in circles , chasing own tail :
http://www.pat2pdf.org/patents/pat4229705.pdf
or just go to www.pat2pdf.org , then type 4229705
anyway - that AES paper is still interesting

I ordered a microphone input transformer from CineMag. It has a 5 to 1 step up ratio. With my little hand held meter, I measured the primary inductance at 18.9H, the DCR was 30 ohms, secondary DCR measured 1.179k ohms--I couldn't get a reading on the inductance, perhaps it exceeds my meter's capabilities.
Performance is stunning compared to the cheap, little transformer with which I began this experiment. The bandwidth is greatly increased, as are the subtle details. There's also far less noise.
I connected this to the same circuit I posted in an earlier post. I changed the input ground reference resistors to 22k each.
All in all, this has been a fantastic adventure. I'll be playing with this piece of luck for some time to come. 🙂

ZM,
J310's and R550's? Looks like 7310, but hey, I am not supposed to see it anyways. It does have Iron in it, so it should not sound anemic 😛

what's "7310" ?
Woodie - for your eyes only
little play with Semisouths
Wish I could sim this. I like the little dingle balls (Choky trademark CCS). Thanks, cause I've been waiting for some SPICE in order to put those Semi's to work.

tnx Blues - that seems correct - I just didn't realized that Tea is actually asking confirmation for part name
that's either J309 or J310 - in fact same jfet , just different current classes
you can take J310 as 2SK170V - on steroids

This newbie thinks the top secret board looks like a map of mighty New York, New York, USA, with Broadway running diagonally up the middle (Q10-Q12 and R3-R8). Except Broadway runs on the other diagonal, southeast to northwest. In American geography, NYC is in the northeast, not the semi-south...
Maybe the name should = "Broadway" amp?
PS. I grew up near NYC many years ago.

Happy Birthday Nelson!
I can't call you Papa - not only am I a newbie who hasn't earned my stripes, but I was also born in 1951 only 129 days later than you. So it would be a biological miracle!

Thank you. I did spend the day at the coast (Inverness)
where I consumed a medicinal quantity of Veuve Cliquot.
