NY's gift from Mighty ZM

interesting output stage from ancient Pioneer receiver
SX1000T , older one - with 4 6CW4 nuvistors in FM FE , germaniums all trough , and just 4 TO3 outputs are (yup - they still are ! ) siliciums
phase splitter xformers are size of smaller tube amp OPT
btw - take a look at Iq
(will it drive F4 ....... can I make a SUSY of it ...... can I put double number of outputs ........
)

spooky's house
I built a duplex for my cat with a deck.
I once made my daughter a doll house. More work than
any amplifier ever.

That's really something, isn't it?

Can we see a little more of the circuit--especially what the outputs (Q15/17) are doing--please, please, pretty please...

speaker driving - what else ?
😀
that's complete output stage ;
entire circuit is rather complex - that was a time when even receivers were equipped with tape-head input

Careful - ZM - with such statements you almost reveal your age (must be like mine...)!

even if I'm old fart for at least 2 decades (now I'm 43 ) , I presume that I'm maybe just few years older that that Oldie

I'll include more info after NY ( main schmtc is biggie ) , along with photos of real thing
I learned a considerable amount of my trade fixing Pioneer
receivers in the back room at Sun Stereo. I have always had
great respect for their engineering.

OMG! I worked at Sun Stereo on Shattuck in Berkeley, and of course visited the one in Davis a lot ....
I was on the sales force but wasn't very good at it and was fired eventually..
I fondly remember a customer I was demoing speakers to who told me I had greater potential than selling him cheesy loudspeakers, and should get on with my life..
I also remember a guy coming in and telling me what he wanted. We had some stuff on sale that was perfect. I said "Have I got a deal for you!" He got this look of panic and almost ran out the door..

53!
As this is the off-topic thread here's my dipole protos.
Only reason to have them here in a amp-forum (mostly) is that they are to be driven by my 400A. And the other picture is from this cold Oslo early evening - cold is the reason I can use class A amplifiers without shame!

lol!
Peerless 12" woofers.
X-over by Sigfried Linkwitz. I mentioned elsewhere that box could be a subject for B1 (or was it B-1?) like circuitry in the future.
Don't you just love the nice red colour?

now - moon , please

Another day... 😉
I should really, either: 1. Look at those VFETs I obtained, or 2. Go to bed!
