hey, I have a quick question 🙂 I made a mistake on a PCB and accidentally put a line filtering cap (X2/Y2 type cap) on the secondary side of the trafo instead of the primary. There really isn't room to put a series resistor with this capacitor, which seems might be necessary for a proper snubber. There isn't any sort of line choke on the primary to generate spikes, just line voltage on the other side of the transformer and a fuse. Anyways, my question is, is there any benefit at all from putting a capacitor in this sorta non-standard location?

wow, very interesting. In my case, I have a wimpy PCB mount transformer. It is an Amveco TE70032, 2x12VAC @ 292mA, or 7VA total. Secondaries are in parallel. So, it's not dual rectifiers, and not center tap... is there a second page to that spreadsheet? heh.
