The original membrane was simply an elastomeric coating and had failed. They have taken the new membrane up the outside of the wall as there was no way to access the rear, short of removing the shelf angle. The sheet metal is the primary water rejector and trim piece. The weep holes are still open behind it.
She is an odd breed called a Schnoodle and a rescue case as she and her littermates were left at our vet's church to be found and hopefully cared for. Our vet took them in and found new owners for them and we are one of those that adopted her.

Thanks for info. There are several now accepted first cross breeds here in Scotland........Standard Poodle x Labrador makes an excellent gundog, whilst they cross Spaniels with anything that moves. A friend has a Poodle x Airedale....be interested to see it when fully grown. She reckons that it will win obedience competitions.

I have personally tried crossbreeding with almost any female that crossed my path.... but alas, marriage bought an end to that bit of fun.

thus far, evolution appears to suggest that longer body parts only lead to a shorter life.
So, backward induction would say that the primary requirement for a longer life is a shorter body part.
(aka, ever seen a really old fart carry an XL tool box ?)
