Apple has become what it hated. I built my own computer an dwill not nee dto change until thwy stop servicing the OS.

Got HHDs hanging around everywhere: effectively 2 Macs in a box with dual everything but differing OSs.
The tablet is just for pics and I can't get it to talk with its Mother!!!
A friend has built a "hackedmac" for pro video and photography...it leaves all catalogue macs standing back in awe ...and history! All at about UK£ 1000!😎
I've never had a laptop computer, but did have a German secretary who fitted that definition!
