Australians are a whinging lot.
The UN regularly declares Australia to be the second best place to live behind Norway but they are only the 9th happiest people. They are seven places less happy than they objectively should be.
Australians cheer up, it's not as bad to be you as you think it is! ;-)
Let's see, Australia is :
- One big fooking desert, which they named the outback. So if an Aussie had enough of life with She-las named Mate, he checks out back
- Surrounded by a circle of beach, some 16,000 miles of hazardous radiation No Oz zone
- Surrounded by water with a couple of hundred shark species, it's my firm belief every Australian surfer has had quite enough of being an Aussie Oz-born

You could of course focus on a couple of negatives however the Australian branch of my family is doing twice as well in life as the rest with half the effort.
Australians told me that if you see someone actually doing some work in Australia you are usually looking at an immigrant. 🙂

Agreed.
There are a couple of local weekend markets here with stall holders directly selling their organic produce/eggs/honey.
It is a pleasure to be able to speak with these growers and buy trustworthy foods as opposed to the major supermarket produce that in appearance is perfect quality but of unknown provenance and possible/likely pesticide residuals.

I have 2 children. Both are autistic.
The youngest one can't talk and will most likely need full time care for his whole life.
You've unmade my day I'm truly sorry. I have several friends that are dealing with this with some very good success, one from down under BTW. The intervention is a huge financial and spiritual drain my heart goes out to you.
If Autism rate hits 50% you won't just have an autism problem, you'll also have a very serious suicide problem.
