If I understand correctly, this has a flat analog gain stage directly feeding into an ADC chip, with RIAA equalization applied in the digital domain. I've never seen anybody do it this way before. Anyone here got one of these yet? Seems pretty cool.

Interesting concept ... but it seems to have a very limited ability to provide optimal cart loading.
It has more options for loading than an awful lot of phono stages and I would say covers most of the bases. Only shame is that there is no 0pF option for capacitive loading.
I
It does have facilities for optimal cartridge loading.

I think that is how Analog Precision does it in the Ultimate Preamp.https://www.minidsp.com/products/usb-audio-interface/adept

and don't forget the parks audio puffin, which last time I checked had a declicker option as well.

It has 50R, 100R and 1000R for MC - which is inadequate, in my view. But yes, some phono stages are locked into 100R! 😵
what's missing? MC loading is not as important as MM and just there to stop any ultrasonic ringing (IMO). If you want less just slam a resistor in parallel. If you want more then you have an outlier cartridge and probably have 5 or 6 phono stages anyway...
what's missing?
What's missing? Well, when I had a Benz LP (the original one) ... I thought 3300R gave me the best compromise between 'loose bass' and 'air'. Higher than 3300 ... and the bass became floppy; lower ... and I lost 'air.
MC loading is not as important as MM
If you want to believe that ... you're perfectly within your Constitutional rights. 🙂
Me - I believe MC loading is equally as important as MM loading.

What a bizarre statement. 😵

I clicked on your link and couldn't find any mention of optimising cart loading???
There are multiple DIP switches for that. They used to have a photo and a brief blurb on their website with a PDF guide. I think that it must have all moved to their support forum.

Aah, OK. 👍
UfffIt has more options for loading than an awful lot of phono stages and I would say covers most of the bases. Only shame is that there is no 0pF option for capacitive loading.
that's very high for a sub 40 ohm coil but then again you wouldn't use a multi $K cartridge with a $299 phono stage under any normal circumstances? What's missing? Apologies but the maths is fairly well known on this. It has little effect, but if you PREFER a certain loading then that's fine.If you want to believe that ... you're perfectly within your Constitutional rights. 🙂
And that is your rights. BTW the British constitution is unwritten so I can't tell if I am allowed to believe things 😛Me - I believe MC loading is equally as important as MM loading.
Not bizarre at all if you look around on here. What a bizarre statement. 😵
@merlin el mago can you translate 'Ufff' please. Not sure what you are trying to say there 🙂
Not good if you can't adjust to zero the input capacitance, a lot of cartridges have enough capacitance with the Tonearm wires like my Shure V-15!!!!
