I have two solid silver / teflon cables, one is 3-wire 24 AWG, the other 4-wire 26 AWG. To my ears, the Mars is a better interconnect than those two, since it sounds more natural and colorful. I'm not a big lover of pure silver wires...😱

I prefer wires made of copper plated with silver, which (subjectively) maintain most of the naturalness of copper. 🙂

Or just copper, maybe Audioquest-level copper. 🙂

I didn't imply these wire will sound good or not. I just found the price fascinating.
At 40' for $1, you can braid 2 pairs of 1 meter IC, 3 wires for each IC. Exclude the RCA jack, the cost of the wire for one pair of IC no more than $0.5!! Hey, it is teflon silver plated copper wire after all. Sell the bare braided wire for $10/pair, you make a decent profit.

Alright... Just wanted to suggest that I don't use the sheer material "facts" as a judgment criterion for the real-world performance of a cable, really, as I'm used to trusting the judgment of my ears more or less blindly 🙂 ; that's why I like this Mars this much, without being put off by someone else's prejudice (real or purported) at all. 😎

Ditto. I always value others opinion. If I find the idea interesting and within my reach ($$-wise and ability to build), I will always try it out. If the outcome isn't what I expect, then I move on the next thing on my list. After all, what sounds good is a personal preference thing.

An update to my Mars demo, I've moved the Mars from between "the dac and the preamp" to "the preamp and the amp" for a little more than a week. The sound is more tonally balanced in this set up. FWIW, the other set of IC is MIT MI-4 which has copper core, I think. So, it worth to move the Mars around to see you experience the same.

I can't move it around much... There's only one line-level (analog) connection in my system, i.e. between DAC and integrated amp.

Anyhow, the Mars has brought the final touch of balance and coherence to my recently improved (with the last tweaks to the DAC, + the new digital coxial cable) system. And I was using the aforementioned VDH and then Audioquest, just before it. 🙂

P.S.: I owned the Mit Terminator 4 some years ago and it's a really nice cable for sure; I remember it being a bit sombre tonally, so I guess it must be pretty complementary to the open and refreshing Blacksheep Mars.

Hello again everybody!

Sorry for being out of touch. I actually went to visit my 96 year old grandmother in St Louis who is confined to a wheelchair and has no internet. Thus my disappearing act for so long. Right after getting back to New Jersey, I had to say my goodbyes to family and friends before heading back to Bangkok. I am back in Bangkok and jet lagged like crazy (literally 12 hour time difference).

Now, as for marketing...well, if you have been following the thread, I have decided to hold off sales in the US until I work out some issues here.

Andrea,

I really appreciate the amount of time and effort you have put into not only testing them, but reviewing and defending them. I will definately be sending you more samples in the future.

Now, as for the rest of the world, I need a day or 2 to recouperate. Once I have, I will begin the free international Blacksheep Kable RCA interconnect demo. I have not forgotten!

Frank

PS. If it wasn't for Jase, I may not have known the problems that need to be addressed. Good luck with your work!

Ok! Jet-lag is gone, the work week has begun and now it is time to get going with the free Europe/Asian Blacksheep Kable Mars RCA interconnect demo. Here are the DIY audio members who will be first. Please correct me if I'm wrong...

Is that right? I will be sending them out Wednesday of this week. Although I am back in Bangkok, I have no idea how long it will take for you to receive them. I do appreciate you patience and willing to give them a go!

Frank

I've got another tester. Still looking for a couple more.

Here is the low down. Blacksheep Kable has sent out 4 interconnects to DIY audio members for them to test and give their feedback. Now they will forward them to another DIY audio member to test. More info at the begining of this thread.

Shipping costs about $2.75

Soundsgreat, yours are on the way as well!

You've been patient this long, you'll have to wait a little longer. Everything is going registered mail. Basically means it could take up to 3 weeks. It was the cheapest way to ship them. It still ran me about $75 to ship them all, but I think it is worth it. Hope you do too!

They are all coming in boxes because I couldn't find my padded envelopes. Hope you don't mind. Will wait until I hear from you!
