The end of the 1/8" phone jack?

If the connector is not subject to physical stress, I'd imagine the durability would be fine.

Headphones on phones and iPods, etc get pretty heavy duty cycle as well - remember the old dancing fool ads? -and it's usually the flimsy strain relief on male cord ends that fails, but the worst I've seen is on cheap aftermarket versions of the older Apple 30 pin connector - at least 3 that I can count among our staff of 18 guys in the shop.

oh, "guys" was that a key word? 😉

jack - used cautiously 🙄, there's probably as much risk from in-ear speakers as driving at highway speeds with the windows rolled down. Ask an audiologist about which ear seems to measure marginally worse, even among industrial workers.
