Been trying to sell on a few bits.
1/ Ebay now just a rare sale.
2/ Amazon, listings rarely shown by Amazon so no buyers.
3/ gum tree, no bites.
4/ Ebuy, no sales
5/ DIYAUDIO swap meet, next to nothing sold.
Recession here ?

With UK leaving EU VAT is now charged on goods going either way.
My ebay sales to Europe have no come to a halt.
Taxes are charged to/from USA too so its no longer economical to sell/buy abroad.

On the ebay forums there are a lot of people saying sales are well down.
Hopefully things will get better as xmas draw near ?

Tubelab has received a total of TWO orders for the month of October. Last year I had 11.
I know that I personally haven't bought a lot of stuff for my DIY music synthesizer project because the key semiconductors needed for the build are not available.
You could post a Wanted ad here. Some of these guys probably have what you need, they're pack rats.
I think the last thing I ordered was a 10 pound roll of #22 magnet wire, and that was like 6 months ago. Only recent purchase from the store was a chain saw because I needed to clear some downed trees on my property and the electric one was too small. Thats not audio related. Just haven’t been buying much of anything other than groceries.

Most of what I need are 32 bit Arm core CPU chips and the support stuff needed to make them run. Not exactly DIY audio chips. I mat try anyway.
I have scrounged a few codecs, but they don't make much sound without a bitstream. I have some EVB's, and at my current breadboarding and code writing speed, maybe the chip shortage will be over by the time I have working code on proto hardware.
Have you considered GigaDevice as an alternative to STM and the like which are in very short supply right now, they have an interesting line of 32 bit MCU based on M3, M4, M23 and M33 cores.

I have always been a PIC man.
Some of the PIC32 series is up to 220MHz.
I use PIC32mx series a lot for USB projects.

Try an old PLC or cell phone.
Lots of PLCs use ARM processors, you get them cheap from surplus / disposal.
New ROM, you are good to go...

My wife actually praised me for being a pack rat recently. Someone was looking for some obscure Apple monitor that I had taken from work before they hit disposal. Traded the monitors for beer and we were both happy.

Yes.
Now we're at the compensation phase for last ten years of overbuying/overconsumption.

- A Vic Firth Xylophone Bell Kit
- A Oregon chain saw sharpener - sans wheel

About all but one of my power tools I bought from the UK as pro-stuff is much cheaper there. Some of my friends also got power tools from there. I also used to buy a good amount of my clothing from the UK as its also much cheaper.
Nowadays we`re cut so stick to Germany or local market for good deals. Unfortunately, at least retail trade, is now cheaper from the US despite insane shipping, than UK, that says it all...

Money got tight and people are re-thinking their priorities. Those WITH money are making major purchases and larger investments, not buying cheap China goods.
The thing is we are in a big crisis, health but also economical as many lost their job, bussiness had to close doors and sometimes went bankrupt, production halts because china (or an oher country, but often china) can't deliver the parts needed to produce due to this, ...
So even many people who have money keept it as prices go up fast now. In Europe the price for energy (gas mainly, but the rest also as result) exploded, the typical supermarket bill went up 5 to 20% (depending on where you live), ... And many fear to get fired. I'm actually in a luxury position as i'm in a bussiness (IT) that did not feel the impact of this much, and where there is still way to less people for the jobs on offer. But for many other the future is not bright at all...
And that Brexit does not helps neighter in this part of the world. The Brittish are way worser affected than we, but the impact on our Belgian economy is also there as the UK was a big market that became shielded by high taxes now, so not interesting anymore. And they see the result in the shops i'm affraid...
