No Buzz, I've seen a few EUVL Circlotrons before and I thought I might have a version of what he's thinking saved??? I'll look somore when I get home... It's Friday though, not sure when I'll make it there??? 😀
Just want to say one thing and that is: There is a lot of joy in reinventing the wheel when you are not aware of the fact. Ignorance is bliss and there is a lot of joy in building your own stuff so I really want to finish this first before seeing your design Patrick. As soon as it is finished I will build your design
I don't mind collaborating ideas and it would be nice if the end result was that we could contribute to the diyaudio store.
I was hoping Nelson would build a source follower circlotron but I got impatient so decided to do it myself.
I love lateral mosfets, so I will definitely stick with them.

Melon Head, look at the fine print on that board I just posted. Do you recognize the General Amplifier name?

And. I think this is a dwg of what's on that board? Not sure. Those must be guesses where you see a value???
maybe he'll jump in and correct my reduced spacial ambiance? 😎

My eye sight is not that good
The circuit from Tube cad is fine. Might also found good with high impedance speakers.
Just bear in mind what I said in post #111, and think about a better biasing means.
All the tip I shall give you now in order not to spoil your inventing spirit.

This was pasted by NP some time ago. On The copper you can see the words "Circlotron copyright 2010 General Amplifier". You might also notice the hole pattern on this board. It looks just like the pattern on a First Watt heat sink. 😀My eye sight is not that good
I'm only interested in follower
Just in case you hadn't seen this - if followers are your thing and you're ok with tx coupled ..... Hybrid Amplifier by Andrea Ciuffoli
Slap on the front end buffer from f6, no global fb and you're set....
IMHO, the follower is just a copy of the one linked by post #103, with a tube frontend added.

If the outer marking of the resistor corresponds to the actual direction of the resistive coating, then yes.
IF ....... 🙂

I think I remember this now. I might have even commented about it when Nelson first discussed it. I was a little puzzled when the F6 was not what I was expecting. Maybe Nelson thought the circlotron was too conventional.

Must be getting old but they don't look that similar ? Separate bias supply etc - not saying its any better...

Must be getting old but they don't look that similar other than theyre both followers in circ with laterals ? Separate bias supply etc - not saying its any better...
