Hi, the amp is up and running, I changed the all PSU capacitors, just in case... I'd like to thank all the people that helped me to sort this problem out. Thanks

F6 PCB only back in stock. - F-6 clone boards (2 PCBs, makes 2 channels; Rev 2.0)
F6 PCB+Transformer almost sold out - F-6 Kit (PCB+Jensen Transformers)
Matched Jfets will be back in stock this week. Will sell out very quickly, so keep an eye out for them.

The amp is pretty tolerant about matching, especially since you can trim
it with the tweak pot.
I often allow 1 mA Idss more on the P devices without any problems, and
since higher Idss is more common with P's, that's easy to do.

Jfets back in stock as of 08:38MDT - Matched JFET pairs (Grade B) - Parts
Not any more! It's 8:51 MDT, you guys are fast.
Ok, they're there now, and I've ordered.

Would it be possible to use an R-CORE Transformer 500V - 2X 24V for this project (or is it best to use a toroidal transformer 500V - 2x 18V)?
as long both are of decent quality , only difference will be PSU voltage
I would go for it , taking care of dissipation

I got a set yesterday, glad I did....not only are they out now, they are now $10.00 higher, 49.99 from 39.99!

Actually $34.95 to 49.95, $15. higher but worth the money for the matching service involved. The cost would be much higher if you had to buy in quantity of each to get 2 matched pairs. The supplier of Toshiba matched pairs sold them for about $25 a pair so the cost is fair. We cannot complain for getting an early bargain. Maybe this will slow down the hoarders and make them more available for people wanting to build right now.
Thank you 6L6 for making this service available.
I do wish the store was quicker in restocking sold out parts. There is hardly any cases available right now and has been this way for weeks. Keeping parts in stock means more profits, right.
I completely agree -- it would be nice if the re-stock was faster, but I'm always waiting for the unmatched parts from Linear...
The next batch to hit the store is larger than the last, but every shipment so far has sold in less than 24hr.
Also coming soon, probably late next week, J74/J74 stereo matched pairs for the Aleph J and similar. (The BA-1 front-end comes to mind. 🙂 )

There should be more in stock next week. I sent off the last of this month's supply today.
6L6, Ordered my monthly allotement of your matched sets but there are too many amps yet to build... Any word on when the LSJ74 B jfets will be coming in by the 'truckload' so we can match ourselves to help take the strain off you? Matching fets for us and not building kits for your own use, is much appreciated but is it going to become a second job for you, or third, or we've lost count in the many ways you provide for this site. Until then it seems the only way is sets by 6L6! Thanks, H
Nobody is complaining, just glad I ordered a set before price went up. I have a few matched quads of the Toshiba j fets, which I got when they were cheaper as well. Just wanted to try the linear devices for comparison. From what little I have heard, there is little if any difference. Still glad I got them at the lesser price, who wouldnt be? My guess is you could double the price and sell them to builders. Way cheaper than NOS tubes I used to buy!Actually $34.95 to 49.95, $15. higher but worth the money for the matching service involved. IRFP150?
Hi all,
I saw that Mr. Pass said it's OK to use IRFP150 and I would like to try. PCB and transformers are ordered and they will arrive soon.
Will it work like this with front buffer at 32V rail? Assuming that the heat from dissipation is to be handled any possible way, how much current shall I try to IRFP150? 😕
Thanks from a life time beginner, DIYer

what is exact Ids of JFets you have ?
RC , to bring them to 15V at drains ...... IRFP150 = up to 50W per device , if you keep sink at 50C
increase R7 , R8 to 15K
