Thanks to this Jackinnj thread 🙂 I am interested by Conductors interactions with Orchestra.
After few videos with old generation Maestros I asked my self about this musical culture and his future.
In France Pierre Boulez has creating IRCAM ( Institute of the Research , Collaboration Acoustic with Music )
and much more Boulez: Lucerne Festival Academy Documentary (English Subtitles) - YouTube

I too enjoy hearing how it was before music became as highly commercialised as it is now. What have we lost and what have we gained?
We have lost diversity and skill at cheap price. We have gained mediocre and it requires less effort but costs more money.I too enjoy hearing how it was before music became as highly commercialised as it is now. What have we lost and what have we gained?
Stereo are better to my taste and César Franck " Rédemption " are one good example what music we can find inside etc.
Yes sound old school but younger = modern compared to early Toscanini and Furtwängler records.
Charles Munch with Boston Complete are interesting for sure..
I like Eugen Jochum and....Pierre Boulez " Ravel " interpretations and sound quality is one of the best modern versions imho.
+ Mahler full cycle on single Blu- Ray Disc.. the future equivalent of large CD's box probably..

I personally like box sets.
What's a box set ever done to anyone?
In my experience a proper box set provide a fair bit of quality music, no shame in buying one.

I have nearly all of the DG beethoven 150 set on vinyl. 15 boxes. I started collecting the mercury living presence box sets and ran out of shelf space. I have to avoid the brilliant classics website for fear for my wallet 😀

Buy classical records without listen some audio samples can be a waste of time and money,
so I don't after not satisfying purchases in the past.
Actually I feel confident but always humble and try learn.."perfect" music records is an art and rare.
