Stee, that output is nothing new, first used in 1966, the triple darlington rotel uses is just as good if not better. Why dont you get a copy of D. Selfs audio book, you can learn a great deal from it.

Stee that type of output is in use by many, have a look at Harmon kardon amps, some even from the late 80s. Like I said it dates from 1966. The BJT mosfet cfp you have there was proposed by JLH as being a superior sounding and dates from 1977.

If I wrote a book, I would want it to be read.
Not just by some few that wants to spend their money.

I do not know if Douglas Self minds too much that old book
becomes available to many happy diy audio readers. Even for free.
We would have to ask himself.
