Awesome capture.
Thanks for posting so many pics, gents.
Sbaziba, obrigado and the works.

(I view JC more like GTO De Lorean, without the hotel room video)

BIB = Bigger is better ... got it.

Now where do I find the page with the plans ??? The owner of those pine box pipes said he just used plans he found on line ... If I had had it together, I would have gotten his name or at least the link ... :xeye: ... (Who was that masked man, anyway? Maybe I can email him ...)

Or at least it would be just as good to get the formula that would match the box width and height (his version = ~ 5 feet tall using 1x8 pine boards) to the drivers under test (DUT) ... No?

I spoke with the builder and he told me they were CSS drivers:
http://www.creativesound.ca/

They look like the FR125SR:
http://www.creativesound.ca/details.php?model=FR125SR

They sell two similar looking drivers, but the other one has a truncated frame, which his did not.

I believe that he said that he got the plans for the cabinet from a website, but I don't remember which. Maybe you can find the cabinet plans now that you know the driver.

Good luck!

They are likely FR125S, FR125SR are the ROHS compliant replacements.

the truncated basket unit is the WR125ST, which is wide-range not fullrange & 16 ohms (specifically for MTMs and line arrays).

Bob sells these direct, they are available from distributors world-wide, and i sell matched & tweaked versions.

Hey guys, thanks for the info and the photos, especially of Scott. He and I went to both high school and college together, and I always get a kick out of reading his posts, since, of the three of us who went to tech school from our little Jesuit high school, he was, along with the other guy, one of the two smart ones. ;)

Now if I could just get him to come back to our next high school reunion with AD815s and AD825s. - Pat

Did anyone ever locate the plans for these cute and great sounding pine box towers? ... http://wavebourn.com/BAF/baf10.gif ???

My nephew, a good carpenter and musician, needs 'em. I'm sending him the proper drivers and need to send him the plans too. :smash:

Those were my BIB's. Glad you liked them - I do too! They are indeed the FR125S drivers.

For the design, see the top of this page:

Bigger is Better .

I find that they have plenty of bass at home, sometimes too much once room modes come into play. I've measured a 6 dB peak at 40 Hz in an 11 x 14 x 8 foot room! Makes a nice 'loudness control' at lower volumes, which works well their current home in my master bedroom. They never play loudly there, and sometimes are at background level.

They sounded a little lost in the room at BA, but folks seemed to like them anyway. They sure liked looking into the top of the speakers to see what was down there!

AR2jr or my son Matia at the gate. We had three guys - Matia, Julien, and Adam that worked with us to help us set up, load and unload from the truck, work on registrations, work on grill... They did an awesome job.
