Anyone on here ever tried to copy a streamed download?
Looks as though you can with certain apps/programs.
Once you get into high res streaming it’s really quite awesome, it also doesn’t mean you have to give up your physical collection.......even though I haven’t touched a cd in almost 2yrs!
I can’t wait to bring it to the next performance level.

Yes that statement is wrong, the transform is defined for any length time record and no information is lost doing the inverse transform.

Well, an uninterrupted non-continous signal would be something like a smooth bezier curve that all of a sudden was making an e.g. 80 degree turn. If you zoomed endlessly into that turn, or corner actually, it would still be a sharp corner.
Can of course never be produced in the real world - even less with a real music instrument.
And if a clarinet would magically produce one, nothing would be violated as the A/D LP filters would take it away 😉

I had a peek on the 2L website. Certainly a nice choice of samples. I wasn't sure of the spec of DXD so had to check Wiki which has this lovely quote that I'm suprised hasn't been corrected.
There is a demo you can download at 2L Test Bench - DXD vs DSD comparison to compare DXD with DSD recorded with DPA4003 (hi voltage 4006). They note there that they used the DPA4041-S for the actual album. This appears to be a large low noise mic and off axis drops like a stone from 10kHz. On axis is wider bandwidth but has a big hump in the response. Can someone versed in the art confirm you don't normally use these sort of mics on axis?

there’s a place for downloading to your device right on the tidal app. It doesn’t go into detail about what you can and can’t do with it after the fact......I’m going to guess if it’s just for personal use and not resale its ok maybe? Idk for sure.

yes, a measurement at 70 degrees will mimic a flat on axis response from such a mic. But such mic is intended to be used in far field pickup use also called a diffuse sound field. In such a sound field, the response is very flat.
In other words, it has a flat random-incidence response.
BTW, the mechanical construct is to offer a correction to a non-ideal polar response at higher freqs. For measurement use, a smaller diam mic will do the job without that bump/correction needed. Noise and sens are improved and costs are lower now.
