So I'm toying around with the idea of building "the big one".
At this stage it is just an idea/concept so I'm open to opinions or suggestions.
I want to make a "V-8" stereo amplifier like some I have seen with a chassis that resembles a V-8 engine. The tubes would definitely have to have top caps so I could have "plug wires". I'm thinking since 6bg6 tubes are just a 6l6 with a top cap and are pretty cheap I could use a 6l6 schematic for PPP.
I already have a power transformer that will deliver more current than I would ever need at voltage used and I can get 100W OPT's from Edcor for about $110 ea.
I found this schematic. Looks easily doable.
Thoughts?

Hi, a friend and I were thinking along similar lines and I was even thinking of repurposing an aluminium engine block for the chassis. Another friend of ours is contemplating a turntable using a flywheel !
The schematic looks interesting i can't really comment on any issues as not an expert in this field however I am very keen to follow progress and learn or help if I can.

The schematic is almost right. Run the Screen Grids from the lower HT point, after the 3k9 resistor. 420V is a bit too high for a 6L6 on the Screen. If you use 807s, they are a 6L6GC with a top cap for the anode and different 5 pin base. They do produce the 807 with an IO base and the top cap. Same valve apart from that.
