The Better Subwoofer?

Hi, I am looking at getting a new Subwoofer. I have narrowed the choice down to either the Osborn T12 Subwoofer:

or the PHT "Portsea" ULTIMATE 12" XLS PLUS PASSIVE DRIVER:

Has anyone heard either of these subwoofers or could tell me which one they think is the better choice their both $1200.

$1200 for a 12" woofer and a box????????

$145 for the Peerless XLS at Parts Express. Add a plate amp for ~$200 and maybe $150 for building the box and you've got pretty much the same thing for less than half of that. Plus you get the satisfaction of making it yourself🙂

The prices I quoted were Australian $'s. I have not got the skills or can be bothered to make my own subwoofer. Which one looks the best. Is the Shiva or the Peerless 12" the better subwoofer?

I buy Diy speaker kits but I dont have the skills or equipment to purchase components and make up kits myself.
