I was/am a big fan of the original Fleetwood Mac. PG could have been bigger that Eric C if he hadn't fried his brain. PG's later work with the Splinter Group is still great though to my ears.

Had the honour of sitting on a couch next to Peter Green, and chatting for about half an hour, after a concert with the Splinter group in Stuttgart, back around 1986/7. He was more than a bit vague and distant, but freindly enough, even though he seemed a bit pissed off with the band, who seemed to want drive the stage show their way, and delve in over-virtuosity, rather than stick to the refiend minimalistic restraint that so exemplifies Peters style.

Thanks for sharing that. The impression you got of his feelings sound accurate to me. I think it was late 90's I saw them. For the first half of the show he didn't speak and I felt the "hand holding" by Nigel was excessive and a bit irritating. The second half was great though, Peter relaxed and took control. A tortured soul, sorry I don't know how else to put it
