The 15 Song Album collection:

Urban myth that never happened.
I am so glad that this subject was brought up! I became an adult in the 1960s when LSD was pretty much at its height of popularity. I had just undergone a deep investigation by the FBI for an ultra-top-secret clearance so that I could work in the command post at the headquarters of the Strategic Air Command, the only military unit in the US that answered directly to the President. One of my jobs was to run drills nightly with all the bases that hosted the nuclear-bomb-carrying B-52s. A screw-up on my part, and WWIII could have been started. One hit from even marijuana and my career was over. I lived in a sort of commune with many other airmen, and I was the only one not experimenting. The story-line that was strongly pushed to us was that LSD was extremely dangerous, and yes, window dives were in that hype. Not having any way to dispute this story-line, I accepted it as truth. When you said "urban myth", I was all set to debate you on that. I looked it up and was blown away. It was like the ancients believing that tomatoes were very poisonous because of their bright red color. I saw nothing in the multiple articles (even from medical sources) that even suggested that LSD in very large doses was at all a medical danger. In fact, one of the drug interactions with LSD that could cause bad effects was with SSRIs, a drug class that in my opinion should be taken off the market, as it causes many even fatal side-effects. LSD has even been shown in multiple trials that it has some strong medical and psychological benefits. Consider myself gob-smacked!

One of the best descriptions of LSD type drugs is Aldous Huxley's 'Doors of Perception' which is where The Doors got their name from.

Personally I largely subscribe to the hypothesis that LSD, Mescaline and Psilocybin switch off filters which our subconscious put up to focus on 'important' things which promote survival in the wild. I for one have never seen anything which does not exist when I took any of those, I just saw more details of what did exist. Also natural things like plants appeared incredibly beautiful while (most) man-made things seemed profane and boring.
Although music is an entirely different thing: Again some was utterly sublime while much of (commercial pop for example) it was tedious and annoyingly boring.

Ask Peter Green or Syd Barratt how harmless LSD is, or at least the surviving band members who remember their breakdowns & personality changes. Two great guitarists lost too early to the world of music.
As for SSRIs, yes they can be dangerous in overdose & sometimes have bad side effects, but I'd probably be dead without them. Although technically the one I take is an SSNRI at my current dose.

You might want to read up on research regarding LSD, specifically the in depth study by David Nutt which resulted in a table listing drugs by how dangerous they are to those who take them and his finding that incidences of psychosis were markedly lower among those who took LSD compared to those who never did. Spoiler Alert: Magic Mushrooms (psilocybin) and LSD are least dangerous of all drugs while alcohol, heroin and crack are the most dangerous.
Combining SSRIs with LSD is not a good idea because SSRIs inhibit the production of the enzyme which removes LSD from the bloodstream.

Insulting song titles.

01 - Crazy Baldheads - Bob Marley & The Wailers
02 - The Bitch is Back - Elton John
03 - That Bastard Son - The Dead South
04 - You're the Reason Our Kids are So Ugly - Conway Twitty
05 - Short Dick Man - Twenty Fingers ft. Gillette

I read the same material. That's one of the places where I got my eye-opening info.

TBH, I had Syd Barratt in mind when I posted LSD.
