There are a number of ways to take the guidance for the album. I took it to mean the first single I purchased. I definitely owned and purchased more full 33rpm LPs prior to my first 45rpm 'single'. So, I listed the first 45 I remember buying vs. receiving as a gift.

Another way to look at it may be... buying a song means, to buy the rights and own the song; and buying an album means to buy a physical disc. If that's the case, I don't know too many children that can buy songs.

Yeah never brought a 45 only 33 LP's n cassettes 1st was Tres Hombres!
Me@11yrs old and the album was 10yrs old at that stage... next was Piece of Mind then The Best of Allan Parsons Project

It took the wages from five days of boyhood strawberry picking to buy my first budget priced LP (A 'Golden Guinea' album costing 21 shillings).

Before that, and for a long time after, I could only afford to buy singles.
