I like bikes too, but just try bringing home that german console with the vintage isophons strapped to the bike 🙂

I once carried 3 cases of beer on my Kawasaki KZ1100. Also once carried 2 chevy 2.8L heads in a backpack on my Kawasaki ZR750. you just need the proper motivation.
My Ford '98 F150 is about to roll 100K miles. We took a 5000 mile trip in it this summer, so I had my mechanic give it a tune up (it's first) and replace all of the fluids, belts and hoses. Up until then the only work ever done on it was to change expendable items (oil, windshield wipers, brakes and tires).
This is the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Not one failure of any kind in 100K miles.

the germans continue to suffer. Of the the four German manufacturers, none leads any of the 17 catagories......
BMW 528i ('98)...annoyingly reliable..
My VW Golf has done 200000 kilometers so far. I did 140000 of them. The car has been for service exactly once (brakes) in the five years that took me.
No offence but that is not a car considering the american standards 😉HBarske said:My VW Golf has done 200000 kilometers so far. I did 140000 of them. The car has been for service exactly once (brakes) in the five years that took me.

Leave it to roibm to speak for the U.S. again...

VW was as popular as it gets until they started having so many niggling problems (electrical, etc.).

Looks like the same old story in Europe: http://www.wheels24.co.za/Wheels24/News/0,,1369-1372_1462816,00.html
Well, mine is at least a station wagon...No offence but that is not a car considering the american standards
And it's capable and allowed to run beyond 55mph 😀
It's been more than 20 years since 55 got removed. Try doing anything under 80 on the freeways around here and you'll be someone's hood ornament.

You do realize that they changed the speed limit here, right? And that it was originally lowered to 55mph as a fuel-saving measure?

Now I do, was new to me. Sry, never drove a car in the U.S.You do realize that they changed the speed limit here, right?
This absolutely makes sense to me - I have some experience with Chevy small blocks 😀And that it was originally lowered to 55mph as a fuel-saving measure?
