All else being equal, the only differences would be in power dispersion and parasitics, especially inductance (which would in almost all cases be negligible)

True Believers [tm] often dig DEEP to try to "prove" their statements, down to silly or irrelevant data.
Which might not be technically "wrong" but irrelevant/below noise threshold/audibility level/statistical significance.
So some may post: "hey, X measured SMT resistors, found 0.00000018% distortion, Y measured Through Hole ones, found 0.00000015% .... PROOF SMT is WORSE!!!!!"
Often to "justify" THEY can hear difference between one or the other.
Don´t you ever dare to suggest DBT testing or same measurement protocol in both cases.
